Working with Teams? Be much more than a facilitator!
This program is ideally suited for:
1:1 Coaches that want to attract teams and groups as clients
Current team coaches, facilitators and HR professionals that want to go much deeper with teams and groups to have lasting impact and beautiful collaborations
Agile Team Leads, Agile Coaches, SCRUM masters and other cross functional and project oriented work teams
Gestalt Team coaching enables you to see, recognize and intervene on team dynamics that the team and other coaches simply don’t see – or know what to do with.
For teams — whether leadership, functional, multi-disciplinary, operational, agile, or project teams — to be productive, they must operate at higher levels of complexity,
adaptability, and flexibility than ever before. As coaches, we have a unique opportunity to partner with the team and employ specialized knowledge and skills to:
Cultivate the key elements that enable teams to operate at their peak: clarity of purpose and ways of working, trust, collaboration, learning, and conflict resolution
Offer system based and “here and now” coaching that supports the team becoming highly functional and cohesive
Assess how a team can improve while understanding the impact of the team’s environment
Strengthen the team’s dynamics and collaboration, while managing multiple stakeholders
This six-day experiential workshop provides the foundations for the practice of team coaching and introduces the participant to core skills and tools to support your practice of team coaching. We will combine Gestalt group methods, as well as practices based on the latest developments in team coaching and team effectiveness research, providing participants the basics for coaching intact work teams in their “natural environment.”
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
Differentiate between team coaching, team building, team facilitation, and team training;
Effectively contract with a client, ensuring that team coaching is what the client truly needs and establish a shared understanding of their commitment to team coaching;
Understand and practice the four different roles required of a team coach and when to use each;
Use awareness of “self-as-instrument” to heighten team self-awareness and your own impact as a coach;
Apply a team development model that identifies where a team is in their lifecycle and their level of relational maturity;
Understand and practice techniques for team observation that enable the coach to track what is happening at the different levels of the “system” that affect the team;
Apply a process for assessing when, where, and how to intervene with a team;
Demonstrate specific Gestalt practices that enhance observation and intervention skills for all levels of the team system; and
An introduction to the new ICF Team Coaching Competencies and their implications for team coaching.
